Dr. Todd Wortman has an active patient base of more than 8,000 in and around New Rochelle, New York. Recognizing that a healthy mouth improves overall health, Dr. Todd Wortman and his team work with patients of all ages to provide cosmetic and restorative dentistry. Tooth structures that have become damaged or are missing altogether may be repaired by restorative dentistry. These procedures are divided into two broad categories: direct and indirect restoration. Direct restoration typically includes the most simple types of restorative dentistry that are performed in one visit to the dentist’s office. With direct procedures, all of the work is created and performed inside the mouth. Fillings are the most common type of direct restoration. Direct dental bonding, which reshapes teeth or repairs cracks with putty, is another common form. More complex restoration procedures are categorized as indirect restorations. These usually require more than one visit to the dentist, and they often include parts that are fabricated outside of the mouth in a dental lab. Inlays, dental crowns, and onlays are examples of common indirect restorations.
